Over the years she (and of course my Dad too) have put up with a lot of crap from me - I like to think I am just keeping their lives interesting =)
This is a great story....
In the spring of 1994, I realized I was at the end of the string in convincing my parents to host an exhange student as I was going to be a senior the next year... my parents kept saying it wasn't a good idea for our family, that we were too involved in other activities, that we didn't have a formal dinner every night (who does?) and so forth..... so finally I invited Rita, the exchange coordinator for EF to our house for dinner without asking....(very sneaky, I know) - well she discussed the program, what types of families they wanted (ones who were busy, involved in school activities and lived the americal lifestyle (hey that was us!!!!) - well my perserverance paid off - our year with Nina was one of the best years of our lives. I think everyone in the family agree's with that too =)
I have also had nearly every color hair that is in the rainbow (except green...hmmmm).... I have ran up hundreds of dollars of phone bills when I was in VT and Sarah had already moved to NC (we used to watch TV together over the phone)....they have bailed me out of huge mess after huge mess (stuff my brother would never have gotten in to).... Dealt with my constant change of life plans and even didn't question me when I left my very good paying job at Verizon to move to NC where I had no job lined up, just because I "wasn't happy".... yet still I think I am one of the two most loved children (not that we are kids anymore) on the planet.
Here is Mom and I before the wedding:

She also tells me that I am her "ocean liner" - that when life gets bumpy with waves crashing all around that I sail right through while her little "dingy" gets tossed around... but really I think she is more like my TUG BOAT.... I could never have made it out to the big seas if she hadn't used all her strength to pull me out of the port.

I love you Mom!!!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's we know - hope you get a little spoiled today =)
