I am not sure there are words to adequately describe what the title of this post meant to us. You see, like everyone - We LOVE Christmas, but maybe more so that most. We desperately wanted to get married at Christmas, but planning a late December wedding in Vermont with 80% of your guests (inc the bride and groom) traveling - it just wasn't meant to be. We (well maybe more Emilee) dreamed for years of having a baby due around Christmas. How magical that would be! So back in 2006 we started thinking this thought "maybe by next Christmas we will be expecting a baby..." or even "maybe by next Christmas we will HAVE a baby..." The years ticked by and we added lots of kiddos to love on and spoil at Christmas but never added our own. Every Christmas was hurting more than the last... Finally this year, 2012 - it was our turn. Last year we were excited to be expecting a baby at Christmas knowing that this year - we would be a family of three!
Arden loved all the decor and music of the season - the bright lights, bright colors and cheerful music that we played all day for weeks on end. Obviously at 5 months old, she didn't "get it" or really even know what to make of the presents. She did love crinkling the paper and trying to eat it though!
Christmas Eve was spent with Ted, Holly and Riley and we finally got to use our Christmas China!
No Holiday meal is complete without Mike's famous Vt Cheddar Mashed Potatoes!
He made the most unbelieve Roast Beef Tenderloin with a Porchini Mushroom Reduction that literally melted in your mouth!
Love seeing these little mementos on our fridge!
