Some background on this room:
When we moved in this bedroom was an office/den with a big "L" shaped desk and a big couch and chaise. It also became my craft space and an entire closet was dedicated to that as you will see in a minute. When we decided to renovate we decided we really wanted to use it as a guest room instead of just an office, but we didn't want to lose having a "desk" completely b/c I do most of my crafts/paper projects on the computer and using a laptop for this wasn't my first choice. Well my lovely husband went to work building me a workspace in one of the closets (there are 2 full size closets). It was a big job as the walls were just a mess, just primed and pretty banged up. The ceilings were popcorn (like everything else was) and there were sliding mirror doors that I had taken off this side so my craft storage would be accessible.
We will still be added white bi-fold doors so this space can be closed off when we have guests and the doors will probably be added in the next few weekends.
So without further delay:
The Before (well really a during room reno) shows the craft closet on the right and the old mirror doors over the clothes closet on the left:
The Afters:
Looking into the closet straight on:
Looking towards the right (mounted cork squares):
Looking towards the left with my new Shuttle PC that Mike made (I can't believe something so small is so fast and holds so much stuff):
My screen is a 22 inch LCD that is wall mounted and the best part is it is on a fully moveable mount (rotate, tilt, expand)with all the cables and wiring through the wall to make it as streamline and clean as possible:
Why you might ask does it need this fancy mount in such a small space? Well it is because Mike wired a TV cable box to it, so it doubles as a TV/DVR and you can pull the TV away from the wall to watch it from elsewhere in the room!!!
And lastly, another head on shot:
and here is a little sneak peek of what is going on in the clothes closet:
Give Mike some love in the comments people - he worked so unbelievably hard on this project (just wait until you see the whole room!!!)
